Does Slovakia Need a Foreign Policy? Jozef Bátora and Milan Nic will address that question and others at the next current affairs forum. They will also examine key foreign policy challenges facing Slovakia today and the contours of Slovak foreign policy strategy for the upcoming second decade of the 21st century.

 

Jozef Bátora is associate professor at the Institute of European Studies and International Relations, Comenius University. Previously he was research fellow at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna, and senior researcher at the Centre for European Studies at the University of Oslo. He has published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of European Public Policy and the Cambridge Review of International Affairs. Milan Nic is an analyst on the EU enlargement project with the European Studies Institute. He holds MA degrees from Charles University in Prague and Central European University in Budapest and a diploma from the Johns Hopkins University Bologna Center. Prior to joining ESI, he served as advisor to the High Representative Miroslav Lajcák in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as a broadcaster for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

 

The forum will take place on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Roland Café (lower level), Hlavne Namestie 5. Arrive at 6:30 pm for coffee and cake, beer or a glass of wine, and then join the presentation and discussion from 6:45 to 8:00 pm.
